University of Wisconsin-Madison
Dr. Jay Ford is an associate professor in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and co-director of the Wisconsin Opioid Overdose Response Center. His background as a health systems engineer, combined with quality improvement experience, led to his work as a dissemination and implementation expert.
In his research, Ford collaborates closely with health care organizations, coaching staff through the process of implementing and sustaining organizational change. This hands-on work underscores the importance of designing implementation science research projects that promote strong stakeholder and participant engagement.
His current research supports community pharmacies, as well as behavioral health and long-term care organizations, in using implementation strategies to improve quality of care for individuals with opioid use disorder, those in recovery and those managing chronic conditions.
